Although business brochures are often considered "throwaways" because most people generally don't keep them, a business brochure supports the information on your business card and increases its effectiveness. In addition, it is a professional way to put company information into the hands of prospective customers.
Due to the cost of production and the high probability that your brochure may be discarded, an important strategy is to create a promotional tool that is attractive and interesting to read, but not too expensive to create and produce.
Here are some tips I will use to help you create an effective brochure:
> Your brochure should basically be an expansion of your business card. It is important to keep it short and concise, and ensure that it builds credibility. One of the biggest mistakes is to pack so much material into their brochure that readers become overwhelmed and lose interest. A small, compact and viral brochure can be a strong marketing tool. It is more apt to be read because it is easy and quick to digest.
> Always include personal testimonials from your clients. People are generally skeptical so you need to use solid, legitimate testimonials that interested consumers can easily check.
> Provide a brief overview of your products and services. Start each product or service description with a short sentence describing the benefits the consumer will receive.
> Include information that proves you are reputable and reliable. This may include such information as the number of years in business, various awards, endorsements, education, partial client list, money-back guarantees and memberships in such organizations as The Better Business Bureau, The Chamber of Commerce and other respected industry associations.
> Do not make exaggerated claims or you will set your customers up for disappointment. Use honest facts and figures to back up your claims. Remember, the number one reason people buy from you is trust. Earn it!
> The word "free" is one of the strongest words in the English language. Try to use it in your business card and brochure. For example, some variations include free initial consultation, free sample, free trial, free with purchase, etc.
> Make it easy for customers to contact you. Provide your full address, website, fax, e-mail, 1-800 number, cell phone and even directions if necessary. Accommodate your customers' preferred method of communication.
> Search for the most cost effective and efficient way to distribute your brochure for maximum impact and resulting sales.
With your input, I will visualize and create your marketing pieces that will help you reach your target audience and, therefore, increase your sales.
